On Saturday, a clipping of actor Mansoor Ali Khan's distasteful and misogynistic comments against actor Trisha and other actors like Roja and Khushbu went viral on social media. Trisha and Khushbu took to their official X handles to call out and condemn the actor for speaking cheaply about her. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj and many other members of the film fraternity followed Trisha to call out the actor.
For some context, in an interview, Mansoor Ali Khan is seen talking about the time he often played the antagonist in Tamil films. “They do not allow us to rape anymore. I had wanted to tell at the time of Leo but did not. When I came to know that I would be acting with Trisha, I thought there would be some bedroom scenes.” The actor also said that he did not even have the chance to interact with her.
Responding to the criticisms placed on him, Mansoor Ali Khan has reportedly shared a long note in Tamil, which is now making its rounds on social media. In the note, he shares how his children brought the news to his notice, and that this is an attack against him right before his film's release, and even as he is set to play an important role in the upcoming elections.
He further justifies his statement by saying that he funnily expressed his disappointment of not getting the opportunity to share screen space along with Trisha in the film. He also claims that only a small portion of the interview was cut, edited out of context, and shared on social media, just to create controversy.
Adding on, he also mentioned that Trisha has been shown only a small portion of the video, which has caused confusion. He concluded the note by saying that he has always respected his co-actors and asked people to focus on more important issues than this.
Mansoor Ali Khan’s statements have been received with negative remarks on social media, with some calling out the actor who is known to make controversial remarks in the past as well.
