British actor Daniel Caltagirone has completed shooting for his upcoming Tamil film Thangalaan starring Vikram in the lead role.
Posting a photo as he jetted off , the actor posted, “Posting at 45000ft.The End. Will miss you all very much!”
Directed by R Pa Ranjith, Thangalaan is expected to showcase the story of the origins of the Kolar Gold Field of Karnataka. Also starring Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan, the film is backed by Studio Green and Neelam Productions. GV Prakash is scoring the music of the film, marking his first collaboration with the filmmaker.
In a previous conversation with CE, Daniel said, “Ranjith was excited when he found out that I was in the military because my character too has a military past. But the character is also someone who does not fit into British society. I shared my perception about how Englishmen are portrayed and Ranjith was accommodative enough to take my input. Even with English, I have tried to use the heightened pronunciation common in the 1800s.”
Tamil Prabha is the co-writer of the film while Selva RK and SS Murthi will be handling the editing and art departments, respectively. The film also will release in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
A release date for Thangalaan is yet to be fixed.
