Sivakarthikeyan's much-awaited film Ayalaan, directed by Ravikumar, is all set to release for Pongal 2024 after a long delay. During the pre-release event of the film, producer Kotapadi J Rajesh who is bankrolling Ayalaan under his banner KJR Studios revealed that the film's trailer will be out on January 5, 2024, just a week ahead of the release.

"This will be Ayalaan Pongal for sure. Like Bahubali was for Telugu cinema, Ayalaan will be an identity for Tamil cinema. The film will be a benchmark for CGI films to come from now on," he said during the event and denied rumours of having to repay more loans. "We have no more loans. Everyone who spoke about us will look up to us from now on," he added.

Kotapadi J Rajesh also promised that there will be a maximum number of screens for Ayalaan. Sivakarthikeyan mentioned that the film has no violence or bloodshed and is solely dependent on the alien, and will be a treat for kids. Speaking about supporting the film for many years, he said, "Everyone has been asking me for many years as to when Ayalaan will release and the day has finally come. When we started, there was no such thing as 'Pan-India'. We wanted to showcase what Tamil cinema is capable of. If we leave this film, we won't have the will to dream."

While asking everyone to come and support the team's work, he also urged the audience to watch other films releasing on the same day including Dhanush's Captain Miller, and Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth's Lal Salaam where Rajinikanth is making an extended cameo appearance. Sivakarthikeyan also confirmed that Ayalaan 2 is on the cards during the event.

Ayalaan also stars Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, Isha Kopikkar and Rakul Preet Singh in prominent roles. The voice of the Ayalaan or alien has been dubbed by actor Siddharth. Interestingly, Sivakarthikeyan has previously lent his voice to Siddharth in the Tamil version of Oh My Friend (2011). The film has extensive CGI shots, made specifically for the alien. More than 4000 CGI shots, the most for an Indian film.

Ayalaan has cinematography by Nirav Shah, editing by Ruben and stunts by Anbariv.
