The trailer of Keerthi Pandian's Kannagi was unveiled by the makers on Sunday. Also starring Ammu Abhirami, Vidhya Pradeep, Shalini Zoya, and Vetri in prominent roles, the film is gearing up for release on December 15.
The trailer established four problems faced by four different women. Ammu Abhirami is forced to deck up as several potential grooms come to see her, but nobody moves to the next stage. Vidya Pradeep's husband forces her to divorce him against her consent, and she fights a court battle for it. Shalini is a "modern woman" who faces judgment for the choices she makes. And Keerthi Pandian plays a woman pregnant 4 months and wishes to abort her child.
Kannagi is written and directed by Yashwanth Kishore. The film is backed by M Ganesh and J Danush under the E5 Entertainment and Skymoon Entertainment banners.
The technical crew of Kannagi consists of Rama handling the cinematography, Kumar Gangappan in charge of art direction, and editing by K Sarath Kumar. The film's distribution will be handled by Shakthi Film Factory.
Kannagi will compete with Ashok Selvan's Saba Nayagan at the theatres.
