The upcoming Vishal-starrer, which was tentatively titled Vishal 34 and directed by Hari, is now christened as Rathnam. The makers announced the same on Friday, and a teaser for the title reveal has also been released.
The teaser showcases a convoy of lorries entering a barren land that seems like a place of religious worship. Then, the video showcases Vishal jumping out of one of the lorries and walking towards a man who kneels at a distance and decapitates his head, and blood drips from the sword.
Vishal 34 is produced by Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Production and Kaarthekeyan Santhanam's Zee Studios. The upcoming film will mark the third collaboration between Hari and Vishal after Thamirabharani (2007) and Poojai (2014).
Besides Vishal, the film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gautham Menon, Murali Sharma, and Samuthirakani, among others.
Devi Sri Prasad is set to compose music for the film. While it marks Vishal's first collaboration with the musician, Hari has collaborated with DSP in several films like Aaru, Singam, Singam 2, Venghai, and Saami 2, among others.
The film will hit the theatres in Summer 2024.
