Kushi

Kushi, featuring Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda in lead roles, follows the journey of a couple who, despite a prediction of marital failure, make a unique choice to transform into perfect companions for one another. Will their endeavour succeed, or will they come to the realisation that their parents' concerns held some truth after all?

Kushi is written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, who has earlier helmed films like Ninnu Kori, Majili and Tuck Jagadish. 

Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, Kushi also stars P. Murali Sharma, Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Saranya Pradeep, Vennela Kishore, and others. While Murali G serves as the cinematographer of the film, with editing by Prawin Pudi.

The film will hit the theatres on September 1.

Paramporul

Paramporul is a crime drama and revolves around a smuggling mafia and a cop, played by Sarath Kumar. Written and directed by C Aravind Raj, Paramporul also stars Amitash Pradhan, Kashmira Pardeshi and director Balaji Sakthivel in important roles.

Paramporul is set to hit the screens on September 1.

Goldfish

Set in London, Goldfish captures the relationship between a daughter and her mother who is enduring the agony caused by dementia. The movie dwells deep into music, health and an emotional ride that a daughter goes through while seeing her mother in distress.

Directed by Pushan Kripalani, the Indian-British-American production brings together Deepti Naval, Kalki Koechlin and Rajit Kapur with some actors from the United Kingdom – Bharti Patel, Gordon Warnecke, Ravin Ganatra and Shanaya Rafaat – to tell a delicate, timeless story of a mother and a daughter, and of a community.

Equalizer 3

In the setting of Southern Italy, Robert McCall realises that even amidst familiar surroundings, his friends have fallen under the sway of local crime leaders. As the situation escalates into a dangerous territory, McCall recognizes his role: to emerge as the guardian of his companions by confronting the mafia threat head-on.

Lucky Man

Yogi Babu stars in a rags-to-riches story where his fortune soars one day when he gets a car. Later, when a conflict arises in his family which invites troubles from various angles, what he does forms the story.

Lucky Man is directed by RJ-turned-actor Balaji Venugopal, marking his directorial debut. It has a script Balaji co-wrote with Karki. 

Rajarathinam-fame, Veera and Kadaisi Vivasayi-fame Rachel Rebecca also play prominent roles in the film. Abdool Lee, RS Shivaji, Amit Bhargav and Sathvick round out the cast of Lucky Man.

Karumegangal Kalaigindrana

Karumegangal Kalaigindrana's tagline mentions that the film is an emotional tale of family, bonding, and relationships. Directed by Thankar Bachan, the film stars veteran filmmaker and actor Bharathiraja in the lead role.

Besides Bharathi Raja, the film also stars an ensemble cast including Aditi Balan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Yogi Babu, Mahana Sanjeevi, SA Chandrasekhar, Pyramid Natarajan and Delhi Ganeshan, among others.

Karumegangal Kalaiginrana is based on a short story that the director had written in 2006. Thankar Bachan last directed Kalavaadiya Pozhuthugal in 2017, which had Prabhu Deva and Bhumika in the lead roles.

Kick 

Kick is romantic-comedy film starring Santhanam in the lead role. With Tanya Hope as the female lead, the ensemble cast of Kick includes Senthil, Mansoor Ali Khan, Thambi Ramaiah, Senthil, Brahmanandam, Sandhu Kokila, Manobala, YG Mahendran, Rajendran and Vaiyapuri. Kick marks Santhanam's 15th film as a lead.

Rangoli 

Rangoli is another Tamil film that is releasing on September 1. The film is a love story that gives a sense of nostalgia about the romance during the school days. It is directed by Vaali Mohan Das and has Aadukalam Murugadoss, Hamaresh, Prarthna Sandeep, Saishri Prabhakaran and Akshaya Hariharan in important roles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Amongst the many new film releases this week, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is going to be the one film that will make you feel a little nostalgic. The story revolves around the four turtle brothers who are set to live life like ordinary teenagers. After years of being sheltered from the human world, they set out to live a normal life. However, when they are tasked to hunt down a mysterious crime syndicate, trouble emerges when an army of mutants is put behind them to fail.

Directed by Jeff Rowe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has a star-studded cast of voice actors, who includes Jackie Chan as the voice of Splinter, as well as John Cena, Post Malone, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Brady Noon and Maya Rudolph.
