Lyca Productions confirms Ajith Kumar-Magizh's Vidaamuyarchi is on the cards

For fans of Ajith Kumar, the last few weeks have been quite tough. With rumours of their idol's upcoming film, Vidaamuyarchi, being dropped by the makers, Lyca Productions, doing the rounds, fans were frantic to know any update from the team. While asking for updates is not new for fans of Ajith, the very question if the Magizh Thirumeni directorial was actually happening was a new conundrum. 

However, for the longest time, there was no real clarity on that front, and with days turning into weeks, and later into months, the trepidation was high. The last update on AK 62 was that the film was titled Vidaamuyarchi, and it will be shot by Nirav Shah, and will have music by Anirudh. It was announced on May 1 on the occasion of the actor's birthday. 

Nevertheless, after weeks of being non-committal, Subaskaran of Lyca Productions put rest to all the speculations and rumours. 

In the recently conducted audio launch of Chandramukhi 2, Subaskaran said, "Vidaamuyarchi shooting will begin soon. It's a prestigious project for us."

This has come as the most-awaited shot-in-the-arm for fans of Ajith and Magizh. While there are a lot more speculations about the rest of the cast and crew and even plotlines, it is safe to play the waiting game and allow the makers to give the official announcement about it. While this is the first time Magizh is collaborating with Anirudh, Vidaamuyarchi marks the third project between the composer and Ajith after Vedhalam and Vivegam.

It has to be mentioned that Vignesh Shivan was earlier attached to this project, before him being replaced by Magizh due to undisclosed reasons.
