Vijay's Varisu enters final leg of filming

Backed by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film eyes a Pongal 2023 release

The final schedule of Vijay's Varisu commenced on Sunday. The makers took to social media to announce that only a couple of action sequences and songs remain to be shot. Backed by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film eyes a Pongal 2023 release. It will also be released simultaneously in Telugu as Vaarasudu.

Vamshi Paidipally is directing the film, which is billed as a family entertainer. It stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Others in its elaborate cast include Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Shaam, Prakash Raj, Khusbhu, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Sangeetha, and Samyuktha. The film has music by Thaman and cinematography by Karthick Palani.

After the completion of Varisu, Vijay will be teaming up with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for his next. Speculated to be a gangster drama, the film will mark the actor-director duo's reunion after the blockbuster success of Master.
