Sequel to Karthi-PS Mithran's Sardar announced

The sequel was announced during the success meet of the film

Published: 25th October 2022

Days after the release of Karthi's Sardar, directed by PS Mithran, the makers have announced a sequel to the film. During the success meet of the film, which was organised in Chennai on Tuesday, the makers screened a clip from the ending of Sardar and announced that the story will continue in Sardar: Part 2. PS Mithran will return to direct the sequel. Lead actor Karthi has also confirmed the development in his speech during the event.

The espionage actioner was released last Friday and was met with positive reception from critics and audiences alike. Although the ending of the film hints at a second part, an official confirmation from the makers is indeed a treat for the fans of Karthi and the film.

Interestingly, Karthi also has another highly awaited sequel, Kaithi 2, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, coming up. While Kaithi 2 is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2023, we are yet to hear about the progress of the Sardar sequel. Considering it has only been days since the release of the first film, it is safe to assume that fans might have to wait a bit longer to hear some substantial developments about the progress of Sardar: Part 2.

Produced by Prince Pictures, Sardar also stars Chunkey Pandey, Raashii Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan. The film has music by GV Prakash and cinematography by George C Williams.

In addition to three sequels, that of Kaithi, Sardar and Ponniyin Selvan, Karthi also has a film with Raju Murugan coming up.
