Hideo Kojima reveals how Rajinikanth’s Muthu got him into Indian cinema

Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima reveals how Rajinikanth’s Muthu got him into Indian Cinema. The 1995 Tamil film starring Rajinikanth and Meena in the lead was also released in Japan on 3 April 1998 and went on to become a success, gaining a cult following among the Japanese audience.

Hideo Kojima is known for successful video games like the Metal Gear Solid series and the Death Stranding game. He has won a number of accolades including The Game Award-Industry Icon Award, and the BAFTA fellowship.

In a recent Tweet, Kojima talked about how he became a fan of Rajinikanth after watching Muthu, he has reportedly seen the actor’s latest release Endhiran(Robot), and revealed that he even bought Muthu’s OST. He goes on to reveal that he later discovered other Indian stars like Aamir Khan and director SS Rajamouli. He noted that he has seen films like 3 idiots, Dangal, PK, and Bahubali. He ended the tweet by referring to director SS Rajamouli as a “creator god.”
 

Kojima had praised Rajamouli’s recent blockbuster RRR when it was released. It is worth noting that director Rajamouli along with his RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR, are currently touring Japan to promote the Japanese release of RRR. As we reported earlier, Rajamouli and the team met Kojima at his Kojima Productions Studio where the director went through a full body scan for his digital likeness, this raised speculation that the director might end up appearing in Kojima’s upcoming video games.
