Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu – Amazon Prime Video (October 13)
VTK as it is referred in short; the film’s main protagonist is Muthu, who joins a parotta restaurant in Mumbai. The Tamil film follows the rise of Muthu as a gangster of Mumbai’s underworld. Directed by Gautham Menon, the film stars Silambarasan TR, Siddhi Idnani, Neeraj Madhav among others. The film has music by AR Rahman and the second part is in the making.
Buffoon -- Netflix (October 14)
Starring Vaibhav in the lead role, this Tamil film follows the life of a street theatre performer who is scrambling for cash to out of the town, is pulled into the world of drug trafficking and political corruption. It is directed by Ashok Veerappan and also stars Anagha, Joju George, Anthakudi Ilayaraja, among others.
Dobaaraa -- Netflix (October 15)
Dobaaraa revolves around a woman who gets an opportunity to save a young boy who dies during a thunderstorm that happened a quarter of decade ago. As she gets connected to the boy through a television set, the rest of the film is about how the woman gets to save him. The Hindi film stars Taapsee Pannu and is a remake of the Spanish film Mirage. The mystery drama film is directed by Anurag Kashyap and also stars Pavail Gulati, Nassar, Rahul Bhat, Himanshi Choudhry.
Mismatched S2 – Netflix (October 14)
Directed by Akarsh Khurana, the young adult series Mismatched 2 revolves around two teenagers who fall in love at a summer college. It is adapted from Sandhya Menon's 2017 novel When Dimple Met Rishi. The new season will have the earlier cast members reprise their roles. Along with Prajakta Koli, Rohit Saraf, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, the second season will also have new additions like Priya Banerjee, Ahsaas Channa and Sanjana Sarathy.
Palthu Janwar -- Disney+ Hotstar (October 14)
The Malayalam film stars Basil Joseph, who plays the role of Prasoon, a new Livestock Inspector the panchayat has been waiting for. It is directed by debutant Sangeeth P Rajan and backed by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under the Bhavana Studios banner. Besides Basil, Palthu Janwar also stars Indrans, Johny Antony, Dileesh Pothan, Shammy Thilakan, Sruthy Suresh, among others.
Trigger – Aha Tamil (October 14)
Directed by Sam Anton, Trigger is an action film starring Atharvaa ih the lead role as a cop. The film stars veteran actor Arun Pandian in a father character. Apart from them, the film also features Tanya, Krishna Kumar, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan Munishkanth, Aranthangi Nisha, Chinni Jayanth, and Anbudasan among others in pivotal roles.
