Karthi releases Tamil trailer for Kantara

The Tamil version of the film will reportedly hit theatres on 15 October

Actor Karthi released the trailer for the Tamil version of the Kannada blockbuster Kantara. The film, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, also has him playing the lead role. The film was released on 30 September and following positive reactions, the makers increased the number of shows outside of Karnataka. The streaming rights for the film have been bought by Amazon Prime Video, Kantara will make its streaming debut on 4 November.

The film revolves around a Kambala champion (Rishab Shetty) who clashes with an uptight Forest Officer(Kishore). With mythical and supernatural elements, the film talks about human greed, the exploitation of nature, and the broader connection between humans and nature. Apart from Rishab Shetty in the lead, the film also stars Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, and Sapthami Gowda in supporting roles.

Following the overwhelmingly positive reception, Hombale films announced that they will release the dubbed versions of the film in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu. The cinematography for the film was handled by Arvind S Kashyap while the music is composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath. The Tamil version of the film will reportedly hit theatres on 15 October
