Karthi pens thank you note to Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan for appreciation for Ponniyin Selvan

Actor Karthi, whose latest role as Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan in the recently released Mani Ratnam's film Ponniyin Selvan, is fetching the actor praise and adoration among many, has penned a thank you note for the wishes received by veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. 

In a note, Karthi wrote, "Kamal sir you have always inspired us to seek bigger goals and set higher standards in cinema but more importantly you have taught us to love and respect one another and how to express that in these moments. Lots of love and respect." It is to be noted that Kamal recently had a screening of Ponniyin Selvan and had also revealed that he had wanted to play Karthi's role earlier, whne he tried to adapt the film.

Meanwhile, in a separate note addressed to Rajinikanth, Karthi revealed how a call from the former made it special. "Your courtesy to reach out to others to appreciate their work and the joy that you give us is always endearing," Karthi wrote. 

Ponniyin Selvan is adaptation of Kalki's novel by the same name. The film stars Jayam Ravi in the titular role and also features Vikram, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Jayaram, Sarath Kumar, among others. 

The film is currently running in theatres.
