The national award-winning filmmaker Praveen Sattaru, who is awaiting the release of Ratchan, the Tamil version of The Ghost, revealed that he wrote this film to show his love and affection for Nagarjuna and the how he wanted to see the actor on screen.

Ahead of the film's release, speaking at a press conference in Chennai on Monday, Praveen said, "I wanted to see Nagarjuna sir's style, poise that can light up the screen and thus I wrote The Ghost (Ratchan)." He further noted that Sonal is a hard worker and has dedicatedly performed many stunts. Tamil audiences have always appreciated good content, and I hope they like Ratchan too."

Noting that the film was extensively shot in Dubai and Ooty, Praveen said, "While shooting in Ooty, I was reminded of Nagarjuna sir's (1989) film Geethanjali. It was very nostalgic."

Sonal Chauhan, last seen in F3: Fun and Frustration, thanked director Praveen for offering her a challenging role. "I have tried new things in this film, and working on this project has been my most satisfying experience. Nagarjuna sir too supported and encouraged me to pull off this character," she added.

Producer Sharrath Marar praised the filmmaker for bringing out the best from the cast and crew. Noting that The Ghost is a sleek action entertainer, he said, "It is truly a delight to Nagarjuna sir's style and the ease with which he carries the film."
