We had previously reported that actor Ramarajan is making a comeback to acting with Saamaniyan after a decade-long break. Directed by R Rakesh, who is known for films like Thambikottai and Maraindhirundhu Paarkum Marmam Enna, the film features Naksha Saran as the female lead and also has Radharavi and MS Bhaskar playing pivotal roles.

While it was earlier announced that Achu Rajamani will be composing music for the film, It's now known that veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja will be handling the music. The duo met recently and according to sources, the Karagattakkaran actor requested the musician to compose music for his comeback film and Ilaiyaraaja agreed instantly.

The duo have earlier collaborated for various films with chartbuster albums like Enga Ooru Pattukaran (1987), Shenbagamae Shenbagamae (1988), Enne Petha Raasa (1989), Karakattakkaran (1989), Paattukku Naan Adimai (1989) and Ooru Vittu Ooru Vanthu (1990).

The last time the two worked together was for Annan (1999) and the film will mark their collaboration after 23 years.
