Dhanush's Tamil-Telugu bilingual Vaathi/Sir is gearing up for release on December 2. Meanwhile, composer GV Prakash has announced that the first single will be out on November 10. Dhanush has penned the lyrics for the Tamil version while Ramajogaiah Sastry has written the Telugu lyrics. Shweta Mohan has sung both versions of the song, which is expected to be a romantic number.

Vaathi, directed by Venkat Atluri, has Dhanush playing a junior teacher named Balamurgan. Samyuktha Menon is paired with him in the film. It also stars Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Aadukalam Naren, and Ilavarasu. The film is produced by Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas.

Meanwhile, Dhanush has several other projects lined up. He is currently working with filmmaker Arun Matheswaran in Captain Miller, a period action drama. He also has a film with Sekhar Kammula and is expected to reunite with Mari Selvaraj for another film after Karnan. The actor was last seen in Naane Varuvean, directed by his brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan.
