Aishwarya's next titled Lal Salaam; Rajinikanth to play cameo role 

The film features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles

Lal Salaam is the title of Aishwarya Rajinikanth's next directorial venture, which will feature her father and actor Rajinikanth in a special appearance, the makers announced on Saturday, while releasing the title poster of the film.

The film is backed by Lyca Productions abnner and will feature actor Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles. Besides direction, Aishwarya has also written the screenplay of the film. While the poster features a burning cricket helmet against the backdrop of a protest ground, the details of Laal Salaam's plot is kept under wraps.

Lal Salaam will be the first time Aishwarya is directing Rajinikanth and their maiden professional collaboration. The music will be composed by AR Rahman, with cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy and art direction by Ramu Thangaraj. While Pravin Baaskar is the editor, Pornima Ramasamy is the costume designer of the film

Lal Salaam will release in theatres in 2023.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently shooting for Jailer, under Nelson Dilipkumar’s direction. The film is backed by Sun Pictures. There are also strong speculations that Rajinikanth will work with director Cibi Chakravarthy, who helmed Sivakarthikeyan’s Don. While no official announcement has been made, it is rumoured that it will also be backed by Lyca Productions.
