Santhakumar's next with Arjun Das to be a multi-genre film

The film was officially launched in Chennai on Thursday

Filmmaker Santhakumar, known for directing the critically acclaimed films Mouna Guru and Magamuni, has announced his next, backed by his newly launched production venture, DNA Mechanic Company.

The film, starring Arjun Das, and Tanya Ravichandran in the lead roles, was officially launched in Chennai on Thursday. Speaking to Cinema Express, Santhakumar, who has also written the screenplay, says, "The upcoming film has elements of crime, drama, romance, thriller and action. It is a multi-genre film and it is too early to reveal the subject." Santhakumar notes that he got the idea for this film while he was in Kodaikanal working on Magamuni.

"I decided to begin a production venture as it would give me more freedom and comfort to work on my terms. We are planning to commence shooting for this film sometime this month. The predominant locations will be Cuddalore, Palani, Kodaikanal and Madurai," he adds.

While the film stars Reshma Venkatesh, Sujith Shankar, GM Sundar, and S Ramya in pivotal roles, Sujith Shankar, who rose to fame with his performance in Maheshinte Prathikaaram, plays an antagonist in Santhakumar's directorial. The film's technical crew includes director of photography Shiva GRN, editor Sabu Joseph, music composer Thaman and production designer Samaran.
