Telugu actor Krithi Shetty, who is famous for starring in Uppena, has been roped in as the female lead in Bala's upcoming film starring Suriya. The yet-to-be-titled film is referred to as Suriya41 and it went on floors in Kanniyakumari today.

Suriya41 will have music by GV Prakash and cinematography by Balasubramaniem. The Jai Bhim actor recently completed the test shoot for Vetrimaaran's Vaadi Vaasal and the actual shooting is expected to commence after both the actor and director complete their existing projects.

There is no word about the plotline or the character of Suriya in the upcoming Bala film. The project is bankrolled by Suriya's home banner 2D Entertainment.

Suriya announced the commencement of the shoot through a tweet. He wrote, " I have been waiting for Bala anna, my mentor to say action! After 18 years, it is happiness today! This moment. We need all your wishes."

Suriya was recently seen in Pandiraj's Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Krithi on the other hand will be making her Tamil debut with The Warrior, co-starring Ram and directed by Lingusamy.
