Vijay's recent clicks take the internet by storm

Published: 24th January 2022

When it comes to social media presence, there is no doubt that actor Vijay ranks among the most influential in the country. We have time and again seen him topping the list of “most retweeted” or “most liked” tweets in the entertainment categories.

In a way to further cement this status, two of the most trending photographs of the day featured Vijay. The first one was a behind-the-scenes image of Vijay and actor Mahendran from the shooting of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Master. The film, which was released in January 2021, starred Vijay as JD and Vijay Sethupathi as Bhavani. Mahendran played the younger version of Bhavani, and this became his most recognised role ever since the former child actor turned lead hero. In fact, one of his best-remembered roles as a child was in the film Minsara Kanna, which had Vijay in the lead role.

The other photo which made the rounds on social media was a more recent one featuring Vijay and his mother Shoba. The “Shoba amma” hashtag trended nationwide alongside the “Thalapathy” hashtag.

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Vijay’s Beast, his film with Doctor director Nelson Dilipkumar, is gearing up for an April release. He has also signed a Tamil-Telugu bilingual with director Vamshi Paidipally, who directed the National Award-winning Mahesh Babu film, Maharshi.
