Maaran trailer out: Dhanush is honest journalist taking on corrupt politician

Directed by Karthick Naren, Maaran promises an action-packed film about an honest journalist wanting to take on a corrupt politician

The trailer of Dhanush's next film Maaran is out. In a unique move, the makers let the fans reveal the trailer using a new feature on Twitter called "Twitter Unlock". The extensive trailer features Dhanush as a fierce and honest journalist Maaran, who seems to be taking on a corrupt politician (played by Samuthirakani).

Along with the trailer, the film's release date is also unveiled. Directed by Karthick Naren, Maaran will directly premiere on Disney+Hotstar on March 11. After Jagame Thandhiram and Atrangi Re, Maaran become the third film of Dhanush that will be having a direct OTT release. 

Maaran trailer also promises an action-packed film. Apart from Dhanush, Malavika Mohanan makes a prominent presence in the trailer as a colleague and girlfriend of Maaran. Smruti Venkat plays the sister of Maaran in the film. The trailer also has a brief appearance of actor Ramki as the father of Maaran.

Also starring Krishnakumar Balakrishnan and Mahendran, the film has music by GV Prakash Kumar. Meanwhile, Dhanush also has upcoming film like Hollywood film The Gray Man, Thiruchitrambalam, Naane Varuven, and Vaathi.
