A still of Ajith

The makers of Ajith's upcoming film tentatively titled AK 61 released a picture of the star beginning to prep for his role. This film which marks the third collaboration of the star with director H Vinoth, is the one that fans of Ajith look forward to the most after Valimai. Boney Kapoor took to Twitter to share one of Ajith's unconfirmed looks in the film.

The sharply edited picture features the star with a long beard and his trademark grey hair that more on the salt side than pepper. He is also wearing fancy shades in the picture. The tweet from Boney marks the start of work on his third collaboration with Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai

Within minutes of the producer sharing the picture, it has gone viral on social media, especially Twitter. Hashtag #AK61 began to trend very soon with fans appreciating their favorite star's new look. It must be noted that speculations are rife about Anirudh Ravichander being onboard the project as the composer for the film.

In the meanwhile, Ajith's much-delayed project -- Valimai -- is scheduled to be released on February 25. The film's release has been postponed multiple times due to the ongoing pandemic and the ever-changing curfew rules and regulations within the country. The film stars Kartikeya as the villain and Huma Qureshi will play a pivotal role as well. The music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja with Nirav Shah on cinematography.
