Composer Ilaiyaraaja has released a video on Twitter wishing his son and fellow singer/composer Yuvan Shankar Raja on his birthday. The veteran composer recollected the day Yuvan was born with an anecdotal story. He was composing songs for Rajinikanth’s 1980 film, Johnny, directed by Mahendran when news arrived about Yuvan's birth. Ilaiyaraaja was reportedly working on the Senorita song in the Johnny soundtrack at the time. The video ends with Ilaiyaraaja sending a  wholesome birthday wish for Yuvan as Senorita plays in the background.

Yuvan Shankar Raja, who turns 43 today, broke into the industry with the 1997 film Aravindhan. Since then he has composed around 158 films, a large number of them being huge hits. The father-son composing duo had recently collaborated on the Vijay Sethupathi starrer Maamanithan, directed by Seenu Ramasamy. They will again be reuniting for Naga Chaitanya’s 22nd film, to be directed by Venkat Prabhu.

Yuvan Shankar Raja recently announced a live concert titled U and I. The concert is scheduled to take place in Chennai on 30 September at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. Yuvan is currently composing the music for Dhanush’s Naane Varuven, directed by Selvaraghavan.
