Chola Chola, the second single from Ponniyin Selvan 1 on its way

The film is set to hit screens worldwide on September 30

The makers of Ponniyin Selvan - 1 have announced that the second single from the film will be out on August 19 at 6 PM. The song composed by AR Rahman is titled Chola Chola in Tamil. The song will be out in Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada as well. Sathya Prakash and VM Mahalingam have sung the Tamil version. Lyrics is penned by Ilango Krishnan, who wrote the first single Ponni Nadhi as well.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the upcoming epic period film stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman, Riyaz Khan, Babu Antony and R Parthiban.

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1995 novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. It is shot by Ravi Varman and edited by A Sreekar Prasad. The project is produced jointly by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.

Recently, the makers annouced that Ponniyin Selvan will be released in IMAX format, marking the first Tamil film to release in the format. It is set to hit screens worldwide on September 30.
