Gautham Karthik joins Pathu Thala shooting in Chennai

Pathu Thala, starring Silambarasan STR in the lead, is reportedly starting the second schedule of its shooting in Chennai. Gautham Karthik, who was earlier confirmed to be part of the film, is reportedly joining the cast and crew of Pathu Thala for the second schedule. The Chennai schedule is expected to go on for the next two weeks. The film is directed by Obeli N Krishna, who made his directorial debut with Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, starring Suriya in the lead.

Apart from Simbu and Gautham Karthik, the film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalaiyarasan, Teejay, Joe Malloori, Kalaiyarasan, and Redin Kingsley. The film is a remake of the Kannada action film Mufti, Simbu is reportedly playing Shivarajkumar's role in the Tamil remake. Pathu Thala is produced by Gnanavel Raja under his banner Studio Green.

The music for the film is composed by AR Rahman, who is incidentally also working on Simbu’s upcoming film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. Pathu Thala faced many production hurdles, including Covid restrictions and long hiatuses. The film is currently expected to release on 14 December.
