Director Selvaraghavan took to Twitter to share updates on his upcoming film with Dhanush titled Naane Varuven. The fans are eager to see the Dhanush-Selvaraghavan combo on screen nearly eleven years after Mayakkam Enna in 2011. In the Twitter post, Selvaraghavan shared a picture of himself with composer Yuvan Shankar in the recording studio. In the caption for the post, the director confirmed that the album is in the final stages of production.

Dhanush is set to play the dual role of both the protagonist and the antagonist. Om Prakash, who is also working in Dhanush’s Thiruchitrambalam, is handling the cinematography while Maari fame Prasanna GK is handling the editing.

The soundtrack, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, marks the return of the Dhanush-Yuvan-Selva combo after the chartbuster album for Pudhupettai in 2006. The director himself has written lyrics for one of the four songs in the soundtrack while Yugabharathi is also onboard as a lyricist. The film is produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu under his banner V Creations. Director Selvaraghavan, who made his acting debut with Vijay's Beast, is also reported to play a crucial role in the film.

The satellite rights for the film have already been bought by Sun TV while reports are yet to emerge about its streaming rights. The film is currently scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in September. The official date of release is yet to be announced but with news about the soundtrack being complete, we could expect the team to release a single from the album very soon.
