Thaman to compose music for Thalapathy 66

It has been announced that Thaman will be scoring music for Vijay's next, tentatively titled Thalapathy 66. This is the first time Thaman is scoring music for a Vijay film and fans are already excited about this update.

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. Earlier in the day, the makers had announced that Rashmika Mandanna will be the film's female lead.

Dil Raju of Sri Venkateswara Creations is producing Thalapathy 66, shoot for which is expected to begin soon. The producer had earlier revealed that they are aiming for a Deepavali 2022 release, and if the logistical challenges intervene, the film will instead arrive on Pongal 2023.

Thaman's upcoming slate includes big-ticket Telugu films such as Ghani, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Thank You, Godfather and RC 15.
