Naan Mirugamaai Maara, the upcoming film starring M Sasikumar in the lead role, is all set to release this Friday. The film is directed by Sathyaashivaa, who is known for directing Kazhugu (2012), Sivappu (2015), Savaale Samaali (2015) and Kazhugu 2 (2018).

Ahead of the release, speaking at the press meet, the director says, "In Naan Mirugamaai Maara, we have tried new patterns for visuals to the background score. It was initially difficult to convey the new ideas to the team. But once they understood what was required, they all produced a good output."

The filmmaker also notes that the story revolves around a sound engineer who is pushed to turn violent to protect his family. "Though there is a lot of violence in the film, the core of the film has a strong emotion. The audience will be able to resonate with it. This film was shot mostly at the night, and the second half was fully shot in the rain," he adds.

Harriprriya, who marks her comeback to Tamil films with Naan Mirugamaai Maara, says that she was waiting for the right script and team to reboot her work in the Tamil industry. The actor plays a mother of a 6-year-old child and the wife of the sound engineer. "I am looking to experiment with different roles, and Naan Mirugamaai Maara gave me that opportunity. Sathyaashivaa roped me into this project after watching my performance in the Kannada film Bell Bottom," she adds.

The makers note that Naan Mirugamaai Maara has no song or dance sequences, and the background score is the backbone of the film.

Speaking about scoring music for the film, Ghibran says, "I came on board after watching the film. But initially, I did not have a pattern to work on this. When I showed the first draft, the director noted that he wanted the music to originate from the sounds in the surroundings as the character is a sound engineer. I was happy that he had a vision for BGM. Later, I worked on this idea and created a music canvas. I am confident that the audience will like what we have done in Naan Mirugamaai Maara."

Meanwhile, the film also stars Vikranth and Hariprriya in pivotal roles. The supporting cast includes Madhusudhana Rao, Appani Sarath, Super Good Kannan, KSG Venkatesh, and Thulasi.

Produced by Chendur Film International banner, Naan Mirugamaai Maara's technical crew consists of cinematographer Raja Bhattacharjee, editor Srikanth NB and action choreographer Mahesh Mathew.
