Sivakarthikeyan on Doctor: It was tough to act in a film with minimal dialogues

The press meet of Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Doctor was held today evening in Chennai. The event was attended by the actor, director Nelson Dilipkumar, Priyanka Arul Mohan, the female lead, and other cast and crew members from the team.

To the surprise of the audience, the organisers started the event by playing a never-seen-before behind-the-scenes video, and the yet-to-be-released Chellamma video song.

While speaking about working in the film, Sivakarthikeyan revealed that he has minimal dialogues in the film. "It was tough, because the dialogues that other characters have are really good, and it took a lot of self-control to not deliver a good counter dialogue."

Director Nelson, while answering a question about the same, said "I wanted to do something that will pull Sivakarthikeyan out of the comfort zone. His character is drastically different from what he has done before. For example, he usually speaks a lot in his films, but that wouldn't be the case here."

Nelson further said that music director Anirudh Ravichander is the real soul of Doctor, alluding to the Soul of Doctor soundtrack from the film that is currently trending all over. "Anirudh's music has been the backbone of this film from Day 1," he added.

Nelson got a little emotional while speaking about the late Arun Alexander who features in a prominent role in Doctor. " I really miss him. He wanted to watch Doctor on the big screen. The news of his demise was too hard to digest."

Doctor has cinematography by Vijay Karthik Kannan and editing by Nirmal. Co-produced by KJR Studios and Sivakarthikeyan Productions, the film will hit screens on October 9.
