Silambarasan TR's much-awaited sci-fi film Maanaadu has been postponed once again. The film was set for release this Friday.

The news was announced by producer Suresh Kamatchi of V House Productions on his Twitter handle. "We created this work with a lot of dreams. I was eagerly awaiting the release of the film. It is with great pain that I inform you that the film has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The new release date will be announced later. I apologise for all the inconvenience," wrote the producer.

This isn't the first time that the film has been postponed. After being postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was scheduled to release for Deepavali. However, it was once again postponed.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Maanaadu is touted as a sci-fi thriller based on time-reversal and loop. Co-starring SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles, the film also has Premgi Amaren, Bharathiraja and SA Chandrasekaran.

The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Richard M Nathan.
