GV Prakash Kumar gives an update on Dhanush's Maaran

Directed by Kartick Naren, Maaran is reportedly an investigative thriller

Music composer GV Prakash Kumar, who is scoring for Dhanush's upcoming film Maaran has given an update on the film's soundtrack. The actor-musician, who is active on social media took to Twitter on Sunday to share that the work on the soundtrack is nearing completion. He added that the soundtrack will consist of a total of four tracks, including a theme music piece which he described as "raging" in the tweet. He also shared that the audio will be released soon.

Directed by Kartick Naren, Maaran is reportedly an investigative thriller and stars Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. Rumours regarding the film's straight-to-streaming release have been widely spreading across social media platforms over the past few weeks, but the makers are yet to offer clarity on that front.

The film also stars Master Mahendran, Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, and Krishnakumar in supporting roles. Written by Sharfu and Suhas of Virus fame, Maaran is being bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films. 

GV Prakash, on the other hand, has a handful of films in his slate, both as an actor and music composer, including SelfieAayiram Jenmangal, JailBachelorIdi Muzhakkam, and Kadhalikka Yarumillai, to name some.
