Venky's directorial credits include Tholi Prema (2018), Mr Majnu (2019), and Rang De (2021)

Actor Dhanush has announced that he will be joining forces with Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri for his next. While making the announcement on Twitter, Dhanush called the project his "next Tamil film and first direct Telugu film."

It is to be noted that the Asuran actor announced earlier this year that he'll be starring in a Telugu-Tamil bilingual under the direction of Sekhar Kammula, and clarity is awaited on the progress of the project.

Venky's directorial credits include the Telugu romantic comedies, Tholi Prema (2018), Mr Majnu (2019), and Rang De (2021). Sithara Entertainments, the production house behind Rang De, will be bankrolling the new project in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. Malayalam actor Samyuktha Menon is reportedly a part of the film, but an official announcement regarding cast and crew is currently awaited.

In addition to this, Dhanush has multiple films in different stages of development, including Maaran, Thiruchitrambalam, Naane Varuven, Aayirathil Oruvan 2, and The Gray Man.
