The film, produced by Screen Scene, is said to be based on a true story that happened during the 1980s. Sillu Karupatti-fame Yamini Yagnamurthy has handled the cinematography for Saani Kaayidham that has editing by Nagooran who previously worked on 8 Thottakkal.

Director Arun Matheswaran is awaiting the release of his first film Rocky, starring Tharamani-fame Vasanth Ravi, Bharathiraja, and Raveena Ravi. Selvaraghavan, on the other hand, is working on two projects as a director that will star his brother Dhanush in the lead. He will also be starring in Vijay's upcoming film Beast in which he's rumoured to play the antagonist.

Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh has films like Annaatthe, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, Good Luck Sakhi and Sarkaru Vaari Paata in various stages of development.
