The much-awaited Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivii which was initially scheduled to release on 23rd April earlier this year, will now release in the theatres on 10th September 2021.
Announcing the new release date, the actor took to Instagram and wrote, “The story of this iconic personality deserves to be witnessed only on the big screen!" The new poster features her as the late actor-politician J Jayalalithaa, alongside Arvind Swami as MGR.
Produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Thalaivii revolves around the rise of Jayalalithaa from a young actress to becoming a star of Tamil Cinema to a strong-willed political leader.
The Vijay directorial will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. It has music by GV Prakash and cinematography by Vishal Vittal.
