Director M Rajesh, known for films like Siva Manasula Shakthi and Boss Engira Bhaskaran, is all set to join hands with actors Atharvaa and Aditi Shankar for his next. The yet-to-be-titled film is said to be a blend of family drama and romcom, and it is backed by P Ranganathan of Sri Vaari Films.

Opening up about the film's genre, Rajesh shares, "The film is a family entertainer which will revolve around various stages of a relationship. Although this film is as entertaining as my other films, it will have an important social message." Additionally, the director also says that the script will be relatable to today's youth.

The makers are yet to finalise the supporting cast of the upcoming film. On why he chose Atharvaa as his lead, Rajesh says, "Atharvaa is a part of a lot of action films, lately. I thought it would be refreshing for him, as well as for the audience to see him in a light-hearted entertainer."

For Aditi, this will mark her fourth film, after Viruman, Maaveeran, and an upcoming film with Vishnuvardhan. Rajesh says that Aditi's hyperactive nature got her the role. "Aditi is full of positive energy and I found that to be a good quality. More so, I wanted a Tamil-speaking actor for the role, as the script is fully based out of Chennai. There's also a lot of Tamil improvisation that would be required on set, so, someone who knows the language is easier to work with."

Tentatively titled Production No. 5, the upcoming film will have music direction by Sam CS and cinematography by M Sukumar. Details about the rest of the technical crew are also yet to be revealed by the makers. Rajesh is set to begin production on the film after the release of his upcoming directorial, Brother, starring Jayam Ravi.

"Brother, an emotional family drama, is scheduled to release in either April or May, after which I will begin working on this film," says Rajesh, further continuing about the story, "It is quite different from my usual style of films and will focus on emotions between a brother and a sister. It's been a long while since Jayam Ravi sir did a family-oriented film, and the genre has really worked out for him in the past. Also, this film is not a remake of any Korean film, it is my original script." Brother also stars Saranya Ponvannan, Rao Ramesh, Bhumika Chawla, Priyanka Mohan, and Seetha, among others.
