Actor Sathish’s upcoming film, Sattam En Kaiyil, now has a release date. On Sunday, the makers of the film announced that it is scheduled to hit theatres on September 20.
Sattam En Kaiyil is directed by Chachhi, who previously directed Sixer, which also starred Sathish in a comedy role. Contrary to Sixer, Sattam En Kaiyil is expected to be an intense film. Opening up about the story of the film, the director says, “Sattam En Kaiyil is set in a police station and revolves around the events of a night. It will show how a commoner, after getting arrested, finds his way out of custody. When he finds himself powerless against influential people, he uses his wit to survive and escape.”
On why he chose Sathish to play a serious role in the film, Chachhi shares, “If I cast someone people would expect in this kind of a role, then this just becomes a usual thriller. By casting Sathish in a serious role, I hope to pique the curiosity of the audience to know how Sathish fits in such an intense story. After watching this film, the audience will be confident that Sathish can pull off any role.”
Apart from Sathish, the film also stars Vidya Pradeep, Ajay Raj, Pavel Navageethan, Riythvika, and Venba. “Pavel and Ajay Raj play prominent roles in the film, on par with Sathish, and the film revolves around the three of them. Riythvika also plays a very important character in the film, while Vidya Pradeep plays a supporting role.” Chachhi reveals.
The technical crew of Sattam En Kaiyil comprises cinematographer PG Muthaiya, composer MS Jones, editor Martin Titus A, art director Pasar NK Rahul, and stunt choreographers Ram Kumar and Suresh. JM Raja has written the dialogues for the film.
Sattam En Kaiyil is produced by Bharathwaj Muralikrishnan, Anandhakrishnan Shanmugam of Shanmugam Creations, and Sriram Sathyanarayanan of Seeds Entertainment. The film is set to be released in Tamil Nadu by PVR Pictures.
