May 01 is all set to see a major box-office clash, with Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj's Retro, Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh's Raid 2, M Sasikumar and Simran's Tourist Family, and Nani's HIT: The Third Case all set for release. It has been a long time since films featuring big stars from across languages are releasing on the same day. On the eve of Retro's release, Suriya conveyed his best wishes to the cast and crew behind those other films. He also thanked his fans for supporting Retro, which reportedly earned about 10 crore in advance bookings.
In response to Suriya's post, Tourist Family star Sasikumar wrote, "Thank you, sir, for your generosity in greeting us with great affection, even amidst the promotions for Retro." The director-actor also conveyed his best wishes to Suriya for Retro.
On the other hand, HIT 3 star Nani wrote that he is "eagerly waiting for" Retro, and Riteish said that Suriya has "a large heart." The Raid 2 star added, "May all the films receive immense love from the audiences."
Tourist Family star Simran thanked Suriya for his "kind wishes and constant support!" She also wished that Retro would have "a blockbuster run!!"
Besides the aforesaid films, the MCU film Thunderbolts* is also hitting theatres on May 01.
