Every big-ticket release in Tamil cinema is highlighted by the festivities and celebrations of die-hard fans of the lead actor. Right from bursting crackers before the 4 am shows to pouring milk over the cut-outs of the star, there are celebrations galore. With Suriya's upcoming film, NGK, set to hit the screens this Friday, fans of the actor have gone all out to make it an extremely special event.
Members of the Tiruppur Suriya Fans association have erected the "world's largest cutout" for their favourite actor, which stands at a whopping 215 feet. Social media is abuzz with the news, and hashtags like #NGKIndiasLargestCutout and #NGKWorldsLargestCutout are trending nationwide. The cut-out features a veshti-clad Suriya holding a flaming torch in his right hand.
While it might be a proud moment for his fans, it is imperative to remember that over the years, a number of mishaps have occurred due to these cut-outs. Even recently, fans were injured while climbing atop a huge Ajith cut-out in Villupuram, which was erected to mark the release of Viswasam. Though Suriya hasn't responded to this gesture, it would do a world of good for such fans if their idols take time out to dissuade them from doing such activities, which are not just expensive, but dangerous too.
Nevertheless, this has provided the right kind of buzz for the Selvaraghavan-directorial, which also stars Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet.
