Published: 03rd December 2018

Even while the hype surrounding Rajinikanth's 2.0 shows no signs of piping down, the announcement  for the release of the first single from his next film, Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj took social media by storm.

On Sunday, Karthik Subbaraj tweeted out the news that the first single, titled Marana Mass, will be out today at 6 pm. With Rajinikanth already on top of the Twitter trends, this announcement about the song composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and sung by the legendary SP Balasubrahmanyam, has ensured that he stays there.

Meanwhile, as a teaser of sorts, the makers of Petta have released a making video of Marana Mass on social media, where a bunch of percussionists can be seen playing their hearts out for the track that is dubbed the 'Thalaivar Kuththu'.

The lyric video of the song from the Sun Pictures production was exclusively released on SunNXT streaming platform at 5.30 pm, and later made available on YouTube by director Karthik Subbaraj at 6 pm. You can watch the video below:

Petta, a multi-starrer, which features Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Trisha, Simran and Sasikumar in important roles, is scheduled for a festive release during Pongal. It is expected to be a cracker of a clash at the box-office with Ajith's Viswasam, directed by Siva, also planning a Pongal release.
