Trailer of  Sunil Grover's Sunflower out

Vikas Bahl’s comic mystery series drops on June 11
Trailer of  Sunil Grover's Sunflower out

There’s been a murder in a Mumbai co-operative society. Two cops—played by Ranvir Shorey and Girish Kulkarni—bob in to solve the case. The suspects are many, but the tone is teasingly light.

Sunflower, a comedy murder mystery series directed by Vikas Bahl, is releasing on ZEE5 on June 11. The trailer introduces Sonu (Sunil Grover), a salesman and resident of Sunflower Society. He’s the sort of dim, loose-tongued bachelor who would draw suspicion in such a case. But there are also others to look into—Ashish Vidyarthi as conservative society member Dilip Iyer, Mukul Chadda and Radha Bhatt as the vexed Mr and Mrs Ahuja, even a housemaid and her ‘chowkidar’ boyfriend.

This is Sunil’s second web show after Tandav, and his first as the lead. The actor keeps his comic creds (“Sonu Sood,” Ranvir calls him mistakenly), but also appears to try something new. It’s just as nice to see Ashish Vidyarthi, once the star of the memorable ZEE TV show Dastaan, back in a ZEE5 series.

The cast also includes Ashwin Kaushal as Raj Kapoor, Shonali Nagrani as Mrs. Raj Kapoor, and Saloni Khanna, amongst others.

Sunflower is written by Vikas and co-directed by him and Rahul Sengupta. It’s produced by Reliance Entertainment and Good Co.
