Reports: RRR post-theatrical satellite and digital rights sold for a record price of Rs 325 crores

We all know that SS Rajamouli's RRR, was announced to be a theatrical release and it has been slated to hit the screens on October 13. New sources state that the film's post-theatrical satellite and digital rights have been sold for a massive amount of Rs 325 crores. 

Several reports state that the digital streaming rights have been bagged by Zee's OTT platform, ZEE5. Jr NTR, who plays one of the leads in the alternate history actioner had reassured in a recent interview with an international portal that the film is on track for an October release. The actor plays Komaran Bheem, while Ram Charan plays Alluri Sitarama Raju in the MM Keeravani musical. 

Zee's spokesperson was unwilling to comment on the authenticity of the news when we tried to reach him for a quote. 

Also starring Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris and Samuthirakani, the film began on 19 November 2018. The shooting was halted for a while last year due to the outbreak of the pandemic. The crew has completed the shoot this year and the film is currently in the post-production stage.
