Ajay Devgn's Maidaan won't be an OTT release; Makers issue clarification

The makers of Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan have refuted rumours of planning a hybrid digital release for the film. Recent reports claimed the film was being readied for a pay-per-view release. Last week, Salman Khan-starrer Radhe was the first major Bollywood film to have taken this route.

In a statement, Maidaan producers Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta clarified -

We would like to share that there is currently no conversation with any streaming platform for pay per view release of the film Maidaan. Our focus, at present, is to complete the film keeping everyone’s safety in mind and in full compliance of Protocols laid down by the Government. We request you to please reach out to us regarding any news about Maidaan.

Recently, sets of Maidaan were damaged by Cyclone Tauktae in Maharashtra. The film had suffered a similar setback in mid-2020. Back then, its sets were dismantled due to the oncoming rains and the pandemic.
