Academy Award-winning actor Julia Roberts, who was last seen in Amazon Prime Video's Homecoming in 2018, is set to return to television with The Last Thing He Told Me.

Based on Laura Dave’s novel of the same name, Apple has acquired the rights for the adaptation after a prolonged bidding war. In addition to leading the show's star-cast, Roberts will also be serving as an executive producer on the project. Actor Reese Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine, is producing the series in association with 20th Television.

Created by Laura Dave and Oscar-winner Josh Singer, The Last Thing He Told Me follows a woman, to be played by Roberts, who forms an unexpected relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared.

Lauren Neustadter, Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan, Laura Dave, and Josh Singer will also be serving as executive producers on the series.

Meanwhile, Roberts will also be seen in Ticket to Paradise alongside George Clooney, which is due for a theatrical release next year.
