Godzilla vs Kong has become the highest-grossing foreign film post the coronavirus pandemic in India, a week after its release.

The film, which hit screens on March 24,  has collected a total of $25.2 million in regional revenues in Southeast Asia on its opening weekend, with $4.9 million (or Rs.35.97 crore) in India alone.

Godzilla vs Kong opened in 1770 screens nationwide, which is more than any other film since the start of the pandemic last year. The day one net collection of the film was Rs 6.4 crore.

In China, where Godzilla vs Kong opened on March 26, it collected $70.3 million from 42,000 screens, with an 82 per cent share of the box office.

In the US, the film opens in cinemas and debuts on HBO Max on March 31.
