D Imman is now the fourth composer to win the National Award for a Tamil film. Imman won the Best music director award for the Ajith-starrer Viswasam

The music composer, in a recent interaction with Cinema Express, touched upon various topics including Annatthe, his upcoming film with Rajinikanth.

When asked how differently he would treat the film, Imman said, "I grew up watching Rajini sir and Kamal sir's films. So, I know the craze for his introduction scene. I want to come up with the best opening song for him. Also, we know the romantic side of Rajini and I have the responsibility of finding the right tune to bring out his best."

He added, "Fans expect certain factors from Rajinikanth's songs. On the other hand, I want the album to carry my identity as well. I have to cater to both. In addition to that, Rajini sir is acting in a full-fledged rural entertainer after a while. So, the Annatthe album should justify all these aspects. After the release of the motion poster, Rajini sir spoke to me and he was thoroughly impressed by the tune."
