Director KS Ravikumar will be seen playing the lead role in Mathil, an upcoming social drama. The film is directed by Mithran Jawahar, best known for Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Kutty, and Uthamaputhiran.
Talking about the film's concept, Mithran says, “Mathil speaks about an important issue that will connect with everyone who works hard and builds a house with their savings. As I have directed only family dramas and comedies so far, this is a special and challenging project because this is the first time I am making a movie on a social cause."
KS Ravikumar, who was last seen in Naan Sirithal, adds, “It is a lesson for politicians and reminds us of our responsibility. It's a full stop to needless illegal acts and a salute to the police force. An eye-opener for the selfish who stay away. Mathil is a movie where a bold and responsible father faces a problem and overcomes it.”
Mathil, which also stars Mime Gopi, Madhumita, Kathadi Ramamurthy, and Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, is set to premiere on Zee5 on April 14.
