Filmmaker-producer Raj Kaushal passed away on Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife, actor Mandira Bedi, and children Vir and Tara.
Raj Kaushal started out as a copywriter, assistant director and stunt coordinator. He directed three films in his career - Pyaar Mein Kabhie Kabhie, Shaadi Ka Ladoo and Anthony Kaun Hai. He also produced the film My Brother…Nikhil, directed by Onir.
Several Bollywood figures mourned the demise of Raj Kaushal on social media.
Actor Rohit Roy wrote, "One of my oldest, closest friends passes by and I can’t even be there at the funeral…can’t even see him okie last time…can’t pay my respects in person…and people think an actors job is all cushy and fun! It’s the most unenviable job in the world at times…"
Filmmaker Onir tweeted, "Gone too soon. We lost Film maker and Producer @rajkaushal1 this morning. Very Sad. He was one of the producers of my first film #MyBrotherNikhil. One of those few who believed in our vision and supported us. Prayers for his soul."
Hansal Mehta tweeted, "Awfully sad waking up to the news of our colleague Raj Kaushal’s passing away. Too young to be gone."
