Actors Jesse Eisenberg, Adrien Brody and Riley Keough have been roped in to star in the upcoming thriller film Manodrome.

The film will be written and directed by South African filmmaker John Trengrove, marking his English-language debut.

Manodrome will tell the story of Ralphie (Eisenberg), an Uber driver and aspiring bodybuilder, who is inducted into a libertarian masculinity cult and loses his grip on reality when his repressed desires are awakened.

The picture will be packaged and presented to buyers during the Cannes virtual market. Felix Culpa’s Keough, Gina Gammell and Ryan Zacarias are producing with Ben Giladi’s Rainmaker Entertainment.

Notably, Trengove’s Xhosa-language debut The Wound was shortlisted for an Academy Award, and was screened at numerous Sundance Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, Göteborg Film Festival, and the Palm Springs Film Festival.
