Ram Charan resumes shooting for RRR
Jr NTR, who plays the other lead, will join the sets on Tuesday, say reports
After the Telangana government lifted lockdown curbs, a lot of film units are planning to return to sets to complete their pending works. SS Rajamouli's RRR, on Monday, becomes the first big-ticket film to resume its shooting post the 37-day lockdown. Ram Charan, who plays Alluri Sitarama Raju, has joined the sets to start the new schedule of the period action entertainer in a specially erected set in the city.
Aalim Hakim, the hairstylist of Ram Charan, posted a glimpse of the actor from his first day of filming on Instagram. "Today In Hyderabad, Lockdown 2.0 is lifted and the movies have resumed their shoots. Starting my day with a Haircut for Superstar Ram Charan @alwaysramcharan for the Movie #RRR directed by everyone’s favourite @ssrajamouli Sir (sic)," wrote Aalim Hakim.
Jr NTR, who plays the other lead, will be joining the sets on Tuesday, while Alia Bhat, who will be seen as Charan's love interest, is expected to return to work on July 1. Rajamouli is planning to shoot a few crucial portions including a spine-chilling action sequence on NTR and Charan in this schedule.
The shooting of RRR was suspended after the resurgence of Covid-19 and the team is now determined to wrap up the balance portions in this schedule.
Also starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, RRR is a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Earlier this year, Rajamouli had announced that the film will release on October 13 during Dasara. However, the makers have decided to postpone it to April due to a spike in Covid-19.
