Veteran Kannada producer KCN Chandrashekar passed away at a private hospital on Sunday due to age-related issues. He was 69.
Chandrashekar, son of producer KCN Gowda, began his career as a co-producer for Daari Tappida Maga, a film that starred Dr. Rajkumar in dual roles.
He had bankrolled over 50 Kannada projects under his banner, KCN Movies. Some notable titles include Huliya Halina Mevu, Bhale Jodi, Jayasimha, Antha, Indina Bharatha, Ajith, Nalla, and Thaayi among others. He also distributed over 200 films in Kannada, Bengali, Hindi, and Telugu languages.
Apart from producing films, Chandrashekar had also served thrice as the President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. He had also served as the President of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce.
Chandrashekar was also known for his social service and for his contribution to the field of education.
